Five-star review by Millionth Monkey:
The purple deer were the first sign that something was very, very wrong.
Strange goings-on in pastoral Rappahannock County, Va., bring a crusty newsman-turned-brandy maker out of retirement to expose a conspiracy among Big Oil, a pair of hapless wingnut militiamen and a crooked politician or two. “Mother Fracker” triumphs as a page-turner, but it does more than that. It brings home the message that, in the context of hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”), what we don’t know can kill us.
